WHERE DO GOD AND JESUS DWELL?

Someone asked, “What does it mean, ‘Jesus is seated at God’s right hand’ “?

These words are symbolic, indicating that Jesus is in a position of equality with God as no other is.  In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”.( I John 1:1)

However, when people try to locate God in a place, it only indicates to me that they have not really thought the question through.  God holds the Universe together.  He is OMNIPRESENT; this means He is not in a place but, as Jesus told the woman at the well, God is Spirit, and He is everywhere.  He knows the number of hairs in your head, and every head in the whole world.  He knows when every sparrow falls, anywhere.  He is beyond space and time…present in the most distant galaxy and beyond.  Jesus said, “Before Abraham was I AM”.  He is not limited by time, and is not a subject of it, nor is He limited in space, nor a subject of it.  The places in the Bible where it gives to Heaven some earthly description are only places where it is necessary to use our language to convey the point.  We do not have a language for Heavenly dwelling, nor anything that is not limited in time and space.  When in the Lord’s Prayer Jesus said,”Our Father Who art in Heaven”, He did not mean a place but a state of perfection in which God dwells.  His Holy Spirit dwells in every soul who has turned himself over to Jesus Christ.  If He was in a place “up there” on a throne, how does He hear my prayers which are often unspoken?  He does not use human ears, nor human eyes, nor does He dwell where a human form would dwell.  He is Omnipotent (all powerful), Omniscient (all knowing) and Omnipresent (all present).
