Bro. Osborne,

My father, M.D. Edwards Jr., recently passed away due to cancer.  As I was going through his most precious possessions, I found a copy of a book that you had written.  He had saved very little, so finding a copy of your book let me know how much he valued it and you.  You had signed the book, for the two of you served the Lord together.  He was the song leader at Eleventh Street Church of Christ in Nashville, TN.  As a child I remembered the meetings that you held together.  Please know that even at the end of his life, he still spoke of you so highly.  I am thrilled that you are still sharing God's message.  Thank you so much!

Roger Olson

Hi Roy,

Glad to see your picture on your website and it reminded me of the time you spoke at the church in Toronto, Canada.  I still remember that sermon and the illustration of San Quinton.  Best regards,

Roger and Ruby Olson (now living in Winnipeg)

PS  Roger is visiting with me.  I asked him who he would like to hear preach once more, if he had opportunity, reaching back over the last 50 years.  He thought a while and then said, Roy Osborne.  What a compliment.  Alvin Jennings

Roy,good to hear you are alive and kickin.  The Millers < formerly of Portales and relitaves of Vada and Talmage DeWitt of Lubbock > are still in Nacogdoches.  My mother and father, Tillie and Harry, are in an assisted living community here.  They are still kickin > old folks kicks.
Hope you are in good health.  I am going to listen to a few of your lessons, as I have always enjoyed and learned from them.

Happy trails to you untill we meet again,

Mandy, I have been reading/listening to Roy's website since you first set it up. I think I speak for many others in offering you a heartfelt thank you for maintaining this source for your grandfather's wonderful lessons. It is a treasure house of Bible teaching. Clarity is the hallmark of Roy's work, presenting concepts in a way that all of us can understand. I listened to Roy's preaching for about three years when I lived in San Francisco a long time ago. Your mother Tori was in my Sunday school class there, I remember, when she was about eight or nine years old. I am just sending you a great big 'ATTA GIRL now, and keep up the good work. .....from Mary Jo

Brother Osborne,

Yesterday I was in San Antonio at a baby shower for a niece and turns out she goes to Sunset Ridge and it seemed the entire female half of your congregation was in attendance.  Anyway, in visiting with folks I mentioned your time at University Avenue after Lanny Henniger has passed and how much I appreciated your preaching.   Someone mentioned this website and I'm happy to have found it and look forward to reading what is stored here.    Thanks to you for the material and thanks to your granddaughter for making it available via the web.  I will add the material to the book of sermons that you so kindly sent me several years ago.

Dear Brother Osborne,

It was a joy to see your website and how current it is.

Yesterday I was at breakfast with a man who is about 80.  He had been greatly influenced by you when he was a high school youth and lived in Kremmling CO or Rangely when you held a meeting.  You encouraged him to go to David Lipscomb.  He is a great disciple of Jesus.  He has helped to start the SE church of Christ here in Denver area (Aurora).  I have had a prayer meeting and  breakfast with him on Tuesday for about 25 years.  He mentioned you as this influence and then we struggled to remember your name.

This morning during my meditation God gave your name to me.  Thought of the men of Jesus-centered grace who had influenced our great brotherhood in my ministry years.  I started preaching when I was about 22 and now am 64.  My mentor on my Masters At ACU was Tom Olbricht and have good friendships with John Willis and other ACU old timers.

Other Jesus centered grace preachers came to my mind this morning.

K.C. Moser, Paul Easley, Leroy Garrett, Carl Ketcherside and Ruel Lemmons.

In a bit younger group I place Richard Rogers from Lubbock,

Now we are blessed to have in the 60's brotherhood men such as

Lynn Anderso, Rick Atchley, Max Lucado, Chris Seidman, Jim Hackney and Terry Rush.

At Pepperdine we have Rick Marrs and Tim Willis.

In Denver here we have many Jesus-centered grace oriented preachers who encourage me.

I have been preaching in the Denver area and no serve as preacher/elder for SE church having been here for 28 years as the preacher.

Mike Meyer, Robert Lee, Collin Packer and others center their preaching on Jesus.

Thanks again for your work and for this site.

I hope I have not offended you by associating you with these brothers who also have inspired me through the years.

In Jesus,

Larry Wishard

Preacher/Elder Southeast church of Christ

You have created through this website a rescource that cannot be measured. Listening to one of your meditations on The Lord's Supper reminded me once again of the significant importance of that memorial. Thank you for that reminder.

Roy, I appreciate not only your years in the Lord's work, but the way you bring the gospel to people.  So glad we've made contact after the several years we've been separated by distance.  Now that my son and his wife have moved to San Antonio, and now have given me twin boys as grandsons, I'll be able to see you more often.

So glad these essays and audio messages are available.  Give your granddaughter my blessing for her work getting this site up and running, and maintaining it.  A service to we who continue to be lifted up by your thoughts.

Roy...so many years have passed since we last visited in Nashville and played golf with Jimmy Goad.  I've wondered about both of you as the years have passed.  I'm still in Chattanooga and about 7 years ago finished all my licensing and became a financial planner.  I work with the George Financial Group and specialize in retirement planning.  I'm still preaching quite a bit in a new church in Chattanooga, GraceBridge church.  We started about 2 years ago in a desire to become an effective outreach to the city and left some of our good friends behind in the E. Brainerd church.  GraceBridge has been a great experience for us.  I don't know whether you still travel to Nashville, but if you're ever near us, I'd love for you to speak on Sunday a.m.

Even though I never got to spend a lot of time with you, I want you to know you've been a significant influence in my life.  I read your essays and remember with fondness our time together in years gone by when I preached at West End.  God bless my brother.

Nice site.  I am a little stumped though because one of the greatest talks Roy gave was 6/22/  05(?) ....oh well...I was actually transcribing it at one time and lost it.  It was on another site but that disappeared some time ago.  I mentioned it to Mike McAllister at one time.  I sure hope it ain't disappeared for ever.

Love2ya,

I've enjoyed through the years Roy's observations and commentary on living a better story as encouraged and modeled by scripture.  Roy's lessons are timeless, are always demographically related, are inspiring and instructional and always seem to be saying what is relevant for the moment.  I'm thrilled that his lessons are being filed as to be accessible for many years to come.

Glad to have this site. Thank you for setting it up and maintaining it. What would also be very interesting is to have photos of Roy's kids and families, and their kids and families. I have seen Roy several times since he left the Bay Area but it's been many many years since I've seen any of the kids. Facebook is a great place to connect but this site would also be great. I can't be the only one interested in the family.

The new web site is a big improvement, thanks.

I am eagerly awaiting the ability to download podcasts.

Is it correct that the only way to "download" essays is to select, copy and paste into a text document on my PC?

It would be very helpful if dates could be added to the Essays and Podcasts.
